Pumba’s local and regional guide will create a bespoke township tour itinerary, tailored to the needs and desires of each of our valued guests. In addition to visiting an authentic township home, tours include places of interest, such as the Egazini Monument, Egazini Outreach Project and Umthati Nursery. To sample local cuisine in the form of a Xhosa meal, guests must make arrangements for such at least one day before their township tour.

Pumba guests are invited to embark on historical tours that reveal the true tales of the Frontier Wars and the pioneers and heroes that made a difference. The Eastern Cape is known for its hot summers and pleasant winters with year-round sunshine. Pumba Private Game Reserve enjoys access to seaside resorts like Alexandria and Kenton-on-Sea. The undulating dunes, stretches of white sandy beaches and the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean combine to make for the ideal seaside retreat. Between the months of July to December, visitors and locals alike delight in watching the Humpback and Southern Right whales as they make their way along the South African coastline.

Release all the stress of city life by experiencing a tandem skydive with EC Skydivers. Plummet 10 000 feet from a Cessna 206 to the exquisite South African soil in safety. The weight limit for a guest taking part in the tandem is 100 kilograms.

This is an African safari of a different kind. Beach Combers have designed stunning coastal routes to explore on horseback. Guests of Pumba Private Game Reserve will explore the thicket and woodlands on the backs of responsive, trained horses before they gallop into the warm waters of the ocean. The entire experience lasts five hours, including a three-hour horse ride and transport to and from the reserve.

The Bushman Sands Golf Course is nestled at the source of the Bushman’s River and the New Year’s River and was designed by acclaimed champion, Gary Player. This 18-hole, par 71 course boasts rippled fairways, severe bunkers, and bent grass greens for a fun, challenging game. Guests of Pumba can organise transfers to and from Bushman Sands, if necessary.
