What should I pack for my safari stay?
1) Pack soft & Light
Luggage restrictions on internal flights mean that packing lightweight safari clothing is key. The bonus is that the lighter the clothing, the more you can pack in.
2) Enjoy the amenities
While on safari, take the time to enjoy the amenities at the lodges. You are on holiday after all. From the private plunge pools at your chalet to the gym and spa. Ask about our extra activities.
Suggestion: Swimming costume, towels are provided. Closed shoes for walking safaris and safari drives.
3) Think Layers
Temperatures can vary greatly on safari. Days might be blazing hot, while nights and mornings can be downright chilly.
Suggestion in summer: Lightweight down or fleece jacket
Suggestion in winter: Lightweight down or fleece jacket, beanie, gloves, scarf, vests
4) Pack with purpose
Consider packing some clothing you don’t mind leaving behind for the communities in need. You’ll free up space for some souvenirs - and your donation is most appreciated.
5) Stay safe from the sun
On safaris during the day, the hot sun can be brutal. Be sure to take extra care to cover up with sunscreen.
Suggestion in summer: A wide-brimmed safari hat and sunglasses are also essential, especially in the case of open-air vehicles and a good SPF sunscreen.
6) Be camera ready
Be ready for that perfect wildlife shot. Pack extra memory cards and camera batteries. The lodge has binoculars, but feel free to pack your own.
Suggestion: Pumba offers photography as an extra activity. Find out more about this when booking your stay.
7) Gadgets
Please note that NO DRONES are allowed on the premises to ensure the safety of our animals.
Stay connected with our complimentary WI-FI. Remember to pack all necessary chargers. Adapters are available at reception should you need any.
Do you have Wi-Fi and mobile signal?
